A resident of Madison for 32 years, Mike combines an extensive knowledge of the local real estate market with his prior experience as an university lecturer, economist and statistician to help his clients feel at ease and make great decisions throughout the home selling/buying process. He highly values the trust his clients place in him when they chose him as their Realtor. Most of his clients come to him as referrals from friends, family and former clients who are happy with the high-touch service they received.
Prior to entering real estate in 2016, Mike was a Lecturer in economics and statistics at the UW Platteville. As a teacher he enthusiastically worked to make complex topics accessible to my students and brings that same enthusiasm and care to his work in real estate. Mike earned a master’s degree in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from Purdue. He joined the U.S. Peace Corps after graduating from Purdue and spent three years working with slash-and-burn farmers in the Southern Philippines, teaching them about and encouraging them to adopt sustainable farming practices and better ways of marketing their produce. An avid gardener, Mike grew up helping his parents on the family farm in Southwest Nebraska.
Mike is involved in our community, currently serving as president of the Orchard Ridge Neighborhood Association. He has campaigned for public office. And he works with volunteers at RSVP of Dane County to develop programs to improve the safety of seniors in their homes and communities. When he and his wife, Cat, get a little vacation time they love to travel, take photographs and learn foreign languages.
